This month I have been pretty busy with my new food blog, Kristina's Kitchennn.
I had been getting lots of comments and recipe requests on all of the pictures i posted on facebook, so I thought it would be fun to just start a blog for them.
I have been getting lots of positive feedback from friends so I'm loving it!
I have also been super busy with my little man; he is at such a fun stage right now- I love it!
He is growing up so fast and is learning and doing so many new things everyday. Part of me wants him to be this little forever, but I know we will have even more fun the bigger he gets! I am soooo blessed to have such an amazing little boy to care for and love. He makes me so happy and makes me smile and laugh everyday!
Ever since I saw online that there were people out there that made their own baby food, I was totally on board! I love that I have a better idea of whats going into Landon's body and I love how inexpensive it is. I don't know if I will have the time to do it for the rest of my kids so I am doing it while I can. I really enjoy it, but I love cooking so that makes sense :) So far I have made:
Organic Brown Rice Cereal, Apples, Carrots, Peas, Green Beans and Sweet Potatoes. Next will be pears and butternut squash. I have a good friend that had her little girl a day after Landon was born. Her and I decided to do a baby food swap! It's been great to each start out with little amounts to see if our kiddos like each thing and are not allergic.
I'd love to think that I will be this conscious of what my children eat for as long as they are under my roof, but we'll see how it goes. I know once we have more than one kiddo things wont be as easy, but I love the idea of taking the time to make healthy(ier) food choices for our whole family.
Landon had his very first solids 3 days after he turned 6 months. We started with avocado because my puree's weren't ready. He wasn't too sure what to think but he got the hang of things real fast. He loves to eat, when its something he likes. He loves apples, butternut squash, banana, rice cereal (with fruit mixed in), and sweet potato.
We decided that the avocado must have had super powers because that same day, Landon learned how to actually jump in his jumper instead of just chilling in it. Once he got the idea, he wouldn't stop jumping. And hasn't ever since!
Some days he totally throws me off by doing something like sticking his tongue out at me for hours. I don't know where it comes from but it sure does crack me up!
On January 10th, Nate and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary! I am so blessed to have this wonderful guy as well. He is an amazing husband and father, and I couldn't picture myself finding anyone better. I am so excited to spend forever with him!
Below are a few pictures from the morning of our wedding.
I remember this morning pretty clear, Nate let my mom, Clarissa
and I have his house the night before, while he spent it at his parent
house. He brought me a bk breakfast sandwich, tots and oj, in the
morning but I was so nervous I could only take a couple of bites. I
looked out the window and was worried because it looked like a blizzard.
And he watched basketball while I finished getting ready.
We had reservations to go to a restaurant I have wanted to go to for years: Ruth's Chris. However, we got snowed in :(
I got pretty sad, I can be emotional at times, but my amazing husband reminded me that we should enjoy the time we have together no matter what we were doing. He told me that we wouldn't want to remember our anniversary as a sad night. How true is that. Again, amazing husband. He is good at reminders like that. Although we didn't get to go to Ruth's Chris, we still ended up having a great night home together. After he helped his sister out of the snow storm he brought home pizza, ice cream, chocolate and flowers, and we watched a movie on the couch. It's things like this that make me so happy to be with him. He is so positive in crappy situations and turns them into good situations. Thanks babe!
The next week on his day off, we got to celebrate again! I guess there's an upside to missing anniversary dinner reservations, two celebrations! We started the day off by going to the Bountiful Temple, where we took my ancestors names for the very first time. Amazing! Afterwards we got to go to dinner and it was well worth the wait :)
Nate said since it was a special occasion, we should get the full experience. So we definitely indulged :) We started with lobster bisque, then filet mignon, au gratin potatoes, onion rings and they brought us free dessert for our anniversary: creme brulee. It was a nice place and Nate and I enjoyed the night together. Maybe one say we will go there again, when we save some money haha!
This past week our little boy got his second haircut! He isn't even 7 months old yet but he needed it very badly. He did such a great job and this time he sat on my lap. Our boy is growing up!
Speaking of growing up...guess who has his first couple of teeth coming up...
One of them has actually popped through and the second is on it's way. I'm excited to see our boy with "toofers," it will be so cute!!!
