Happy New Years Eve!

Tonight I made a special steak dinner with asparagus and couscous salad. We toasted with Martinelli's and enjoyed our night together. After dinner we had some of the cousins over for games and an early count down. We had a fun time and some yummy dessert.

Tonight was pretty interesting...

Landon was playing in the kitchen while we were in the living room and we heard a thump, then "Momma..milk!" It sounded like he had been rolling his sippy cup across the kitchen floor, but when I went to go see what was wrong, there was no sippy cup in sight. I looked under the cabinets and that's when I noticed our air vent had been moved or fallen. So we layed down on the floor to look inside and couldn't see it. But we did see another hole. A hole of large piping where the air comes up from the basement.

Yep...the milk filled sippy cup went right into that hole. What a nightmare. So we went down to the basement where my father-in-law and Nate worked hard to figure out exactly where in the pipe the sippy cup had landed. They worked and worked for an hour and were finally able to get it out. Silly silly Landon.

We are definitely grateful at the moment that we have not yet finished our basement. It would have made this a lot harder and more expensive.

We woke up Christmas morning to snow falling. This has been a very weird winter; it has not snowed more than a couple of times so this was a nice surprise.

We got the kids up, Mark and Grandma came over and we opened gifts while the cinnamon rolls cooked.

We had breakfast, played with our Christmas gifts and then hung out.

Merry Christmas from the Gailey's!

Later in the day we headed over to my in-laws home for Christmas dinner and visiting with the family. It was so nice to be able to see so many of our family members for Christmas. My mom and Mark being in town, Michelle and Mike were in town, and then everyone that lived close by was there.

Grandma and Mark were supposed to get here on Christmas Eve, but the night before, my mom called and said "Hey...are you busy?" And I said "...why?" haha, it seemed like a random question. She said "Can we come see you? We decided to come a day early, we are over at the hotel!" I was so excited! I love surprises, especially involving out of town visitors! So after we got home from some Gailey Christmas festivities, they came over for a little visit before the kids had to go to bed. It was such a fun surprise!

The next day we all went to lunch then to Rush, to check out the bowling. Landon had never bowled before but he ended up loving it! We all had a great time!

After bowling my mom and Mark went to take a nap and the kids, Nate and I relaxed and napped before it was time for Christmas Eve dinner. After dinner we took my mom and the kids to Layton Park to see the Christmas lights again. Then we came home and I started making cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. It was a great day.

We love Sunday before Christmas at church! Such a special time of year to reflect on the birth of Christ. We are so grateful for all he did for us and the example he is to follow. Our family strives to be Christ-like and we look forward to the time we get to meet him face to face.

Happy Sunday from all of us!
