We've had a pretty scary day today. One of those times as a parent where you have to act brave for your child, even though you feel like dying inside. When you have to hide your tears and pretend everything is okay so your child isn't scared. These times as a parent are no fun at all.

Our little boy woke up this morning unable to walk on his left leg. Each time he tried, he just collapsed to the floor. It was almost scarier that he wasn't crying or whining from pain- it was as if all of a sudden this was his new "normal." Like he just no longer had any control over his limb. It was just...there.

We rushed to the urgent care where we were told by the doctor there were many different possibilities of what was wrong, including hip dysplasia or one of several different diseases. Our hearts sank hearing that. After a few X-rays, the doctor is pretty sure it is Transient Synovitis, "a condition of inflammation in the hip joint. This condition can last anywhere from 7 days to several weeks."

The doctor told us it should go away soon and that it didn't, to come back for a follow up.  I am so thankful to see that my boy is already walking almost completely normal again tonight. What a scary thing to experience. It kind of shakes up your world when something so dramatic seems to come out of left field. We are definitely counting our blessings!
